Zrak je zmes plinov, ki sestavlja zraèni ovoj okrog zemlje. Zrak je, vendar se ga ne èuti in se ga le èuti, a ne vidi.
Ni oprijemljiv, vendar se ga da oblikovati, se sam oblikuje, je vsepovsod, vse napolni in obdaja.
Zrak ima specifièno težo, torej ima težo in je tako lahko tudi breme. Zrak je eden od štirih klasiènih grških elementov. Po kitajski taoistièni filozofiji in sistemu petih elementov zraku odgovarja ogenj.
Luft – umgebend, jedoch nicht spürbar, wahrnehmbar, unsichtbar. Nicht greif-, jedoch formbar, überall, alles füllend. Aber auch Luft hat ein spezifisches Gewicht und somit eine Schwere, eine beeinflussende Last.
Die griechischen Naturphilosophen hielten Luft für eines der vier Grundelemente, aus denen alles Sein besteht - die Luft als Urstoff, zum Mittelpunkt des Universums hin zusammengepresst.
